At Chicago Arthritis, we are proud to be a member of the Regenexx® network, providing the nation’s most advanced Stem Cell and Blood Platelet Treatments for arthritis, tendinitis and other common joint injuries.
In the world of sports medicine and arthritis, an emerging concept is the use of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Stem Cells to treat chronic or acute musculoskeletal injuries by injecting ones own blood or stem cells into a damaged joint, tendon, or ligament in order to speed up the body’s normal healing process. Athletes around the world have received this treatment, and there are now studies showing it’s utility in chronic tendinitis and arthritis. While still a relatively new treatment modality, this is an exciting new therapy for damaged joints, tendons, and ligaments. Our patients benefit from little or no downtime and they avoid the painful and lengthy rehabilitation periods endured by traditional surgery patients.
The list below represents the most commonly treated conditions using Regenexx stem cell or platelet procedures. It is not a complete list, so please contact us or complete the Regenexx Candidate Form if you have questions about whether you or your condition can be treated with these non-surgical procedures. The type of procedure used (stem cell or blood platelet) to treat these conditions is largely dependent upon the severity of the injury or condition.

Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP Therapy
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is the 1st realistic step in regenerative medicine treatment for musculoskeletal disease. Specifically utilizing a patient’s own blood, we are able to inject a high concentration of platelets and growth factors into the area that has been injured helping to enhance and speed the recovery process from both acute and chronic tendon and joint diseases. As part of the Regenexx Network, we’re able to offer our patients the Regenexx Super Concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma Procedure, the most advanced form of PRP available today. All PRP is not created equal and Regenexx offers higher platelet concentrations and a much more pure PRP mixture.
Understanding Stem Cells
Your body’s own stem cells control the process of tissue building in the body. They direct the growth of new tissue. When a joint, tendon, or ligament has been injured to a degree that the normal healing process has stalled or is not working correctly, injecting stem cells into an area of injury can help repair tissue.
Goals of Treatment
Regenerative treatments can help improve pain and functional ability. In mild to moderate cases it may have the ability to repair damaged tissue. In more advanced cases it can still help with pain. This is different than steroid injections which help pain alone.
Are You A Candidate For Regenexx Procedures?
